HiddlestonI use a variety of media, including wax, paper, oil pastel and paint to create a richly textured, layered piece that evokes our love and need for art that reaches back into the caves of Lascaux.
I believe in an aesthetic the Japanese call Wabi Sabi. This embraces the idea that what is beautiful is exemplified by the properties of simplicity, humility, restraint, naturalness, joy, melancholy with the understanding that all things are impermanent.
