Cherie Haney Ann Arbor, MI

HaneyCCombining traditional metal  working methods with new technologies, I create unique and visually exciting  dimensional wall  sculpture that intrigues the viewer. Layers of intricately cut aluminum shapes are hand brushed for a satin surface and formed with a set of rolls then welded to create bigger dimensional shape accumulations. Stand offs are welded to the back of the  silver shapes so they float over a landscape of acid-treated copper, leather, and sgraffito painting.  Each work is uniquely encased  in a frame welded from aluminum angle.   My industrial modern style is Inspired by aerial land map photography , bio-medical illustrations  as well as Native American tribal totems and patterns.
